Best omakase in Miami! Japanese foundations with subtle elements and ingredients from around the world that come together for a unique and delicious dining experience. This plays out especially in how course meal was planned out and ingredients sourced from Japan and local vendors. I also went with the sake pairing which was excellent and representative of various regions of Japan. Kudos to the staff who were attentive and worked tirelessly for an amazing evening; I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Highly recommend!
Perfect omakase experience. Having lived in Japan for ten+ years we have high expectations. This experience was 100% what we were hoping for: every bite was melt in your mouth exquisite. We did the six pm seating. Time flew by and by the end our stomachs were full and we had even made new friends. It was a perfect way to celebrate a birthday. Service was attentive and spectacular. Every detail is amazing from the ceramics, to the homemade pickled ginger sliced before you, to the incredible tasty nori, and two kinds of rice used for the sushi. Just amazing.
Yasu is one of the best omakase experiences I’ve had in Miami so far. The quality of the fish is incredible, and every course is so thoughtfully prepared and meticulous. You can tell they truly care about what they’re serving. They have a wide selection of tea (I had hibiscus 🌺) and yummy sake as well. Although it’s a very authentic omakase, I loved the music they played. It had a more modern, upbeat vibe, which made the experience feel less rigid compared to some NYC omakases that can feel a bit too serious. It’s also located in the Design District, which adds to the overall experience. The service is attentive and seamless without being overwhelming. It honestly feels like you’re transported out of Miami for a bit. Definitely a must if you love sushi and want something truly authentic 😌
I went to Yasu Omakase in the Design District and it easily ranks among the best omakase experiences in Miami right now. The chef, who is also the owner, personally prepares and presents each course, and you can feel that level of precision and intention throughout the entire meal. What really stood out is that this wasn’t a predictable, overly traditional omakase. Every bite felt unique and thoughtfully composed while still being incredibly clean and delicious. There was nothing boring or repetitive, just a steady progression of standout pieces from start to finish. The quality of the fish, the balance of flavors, and the creativity without overdoing it all hit at a very high level. You can tell this is a place that’s pushing for something special, not just going through the motions. Reservations are tough to get, and after experiencing it, that makes complete sense. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see this place earn a Michelin star in the near future. Highly recommend if you can get in. Definitely worth it.
This is a sushi omakase experience at its finest. The space is intimate and traditional, and the service is impeccable. Both the fish and the rice are expertly curated, prepared, and presented, with an exceptional level of attention to detail. The chef uses two types of rice, each cooked with a different technique. If you know sushi, you know the rice is the true star, not the fish. The only small suggestion is that it could use two or three additional pieces of nigiri. That aside, if you love traditional sushi, this is an absolute can’t-miss experience.
