My sister and I went for the first time last night and it. was. YUMMY. We were walk-ins and the host sat us at the bar (which we ended up LOVING). We were greeted by Beata and Alonzo who were behind the way, both SO welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our experience. Bea gave us a few recommendations and explained the menu and Alonzo started us off with some of the best drinks I’ve ever had, the lychee martini and yuzu colada. For apps, we picked the mushroom dip and cucumber salad, both light and unique and flavorful (recommended by Bea 🖤). For the main course, we each ordered a signature set + a tamaki, each roll was delicious, fresh, and like no other. We were full but couldn’t leave without trying dessert, we chose the sesame chocolate chip cookies which were PERFECT.. warm, soft, balanced. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at nami nori and I look forward to my next visit!
The moment you walk in, the atmosphere perfectly sets the stage for the incredible cuisine. The food here isn’t just delicious; it’s a literal work of art. They’ve managed to turn dining into a full interactive experience. They even provide a "manual" to guide you on the absolute best way to enjoy the dish! The menu has a fantastic variety to choose from, and while it’s a premium experience, the price completely matches the high caliber of the food and service. If you want more than just a meal, you need to eat here. Exceptional from start to finish!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nami Nori in the Design District is simply one of the best Japanese dining experiences in Miami — and I've eaten at a lot of sushi spots. This one stands apart. The concept is brilliant — hand rolls assembled at the table with fresh nori wraps, but what really sets it apart is the execution. Every single dish arrived with its own distinct personality, each variation subtle enough to enhance rather than overwhelm. That restraint is the mark of a truly skilled kitchen. The tuna crudo was delicate and beautifully balanced. The trout sashimi with its citrus notes was outstanding. The wasabi cucumber tataki — simple but perfectly executed. The a la carte selections — tuna poke, salmon serrano, spicy lobster with crunchy nori, miso cod — each one a highlight. The coconut shrimp add-on was a genius touch. Even the miso chocolate chip cookies to finish were a perfect little sendoff. The space is clean, minimal and elegant — the Design District setting suits it perfectly. Service from Daiana was attentive and knowledgeable throughout. At $227 for two, it's a splurge — but every dollar is justified. This is Japanese food executed at the highest level. An absolute must visit. 🍣🖤
Nami Nori is definitely a place I would come back to, as the food was excellent! We tried a few appetizers: tuna crudo (superb!), yellow tail ceviche (very flavorful!), and the furikake cottage fries (crispy and perfect!). For the Temaki, they recommend you get at least 5, and they offer three different pre fixed selections, although you could simply order by unit. In all honesty they were all delicious, and all ingredients are very fresh! I would recommend you choose per your personal preference, as you literally can’t go wrong! Also super important for all people with gluten allergies, their ENTIRE menu is gluten free! What unfortunately I do have to say is that service was not at the level expected, we had to wait a long time to place our order as well as to get our food, and our server was a bit shady when we paid for our food as he did not hand us the POS terminal when he swiped our card and decided on his own to add a 3% additional tip without consulting us.
My party sat outside. The ambience was nice. We were dining for lunch and I could tell the servers were trying their best but we were not the only table that were left unattended for a while. After asking for soy sauce and our nori box after being served our tamaki, someone from my table got up and got our table and the table behind us soy sauce. When we were paying for the bill, the server just handed us the POS for us to figure out how to split which felt really odd. For the price, the service could be better. The food is fantastic and this all being said I will be going back.
