This place is lucky that there isn't another good Thai restaurant nearby. They are busy because either their average customer doesn't know great Thai food or they are willing to compromise because of the lack of convient alternatives. We stopped going there years ago because of the obnoxious revenue-first policy of having to place one order upfront that couldn't be added to. Not sure if that is still the case. We decided to try it again last night because we were nearby and they serve until 11pm. We won't be returning again. It's still a hustle. The crispy duck stir fry was actually pretty good. The Penang curry with tofu was average -- decent flavored sauce with very little in it -- come on guys, tofu and veggies are relatively cheap. The papaya salad was okay, but a minimal effort. AND, because it was convenient for them and would hurry up the table turn, everything arrived at once, despite ordering the papaya salad as an appetizer. We were not asked about our desired heat level for any of the dishes. That's normally a warning sign in a Thai restaurant. Is that because they don't care how I want it or because everything is pre-cooked to a dummied-down level to make the customer-processing system go faster? Probably the worst part was the atmosphere. The music was incredibly LOUD, and there were really bright flashing lights rotating around the room. It wasn't cool, it was obnoxious sensory overload for a RESTAURANT dining room. If you actually want to carry on a conversation with your dining companion(s), good luck. We suspected that this is part of the business plan to get you to leave ASAP so that they can turn the table again. Another annoying thing is the way they handle the check. There is an 18 percent "service charge" added automatically to the check, and after you give them your credit card, the check comes back with a big blank space for a TIP. Are the expecting a normal tip on top of the mandatory 18% service charge? It places the guest in an awkward position, which is obnoxious. Our server was pleasant. Why isn't there better Thai food near downtown Miami?
One of my favorite spots in Miami. Low key and as authentic as it gets! All the noodle dishes are amazing + the crab fried rice 🔥 Idk why people complain about some of the things I’ve read. Everyone is nice and it’s just straight to the point.
The food and atmosphere is awesome!! The staff is amazing. Loved the food just note they do not accept Apple Pay (error on our part and we did not have venmo). Would definitely come back they are amazing.
Tried Lung Yai Thai Tapas in Little Havana — really cool spot. It feels like eating street food in Thailand, which makes the whole experience fun and different. Love the concept. The food is great and pretty legit if you’re craving real Thai flavors. There’s usually a wait, but the line moves fast so it’s not a big deal. Service was mixed — some staff weren’t very friendly, but our waiter was great and took good care of us. One thing to know: you can only order once, so plan your dishes ahead. Overall, a solid spot and worth checking out.
