Coral Castle Museum

The Coral Castle Museum features a 9-ton door that moves with the touch of a finger, a Polaris telescope and functional rocking chairs, all made of stone.

If you had visited Coral Castle in the 1940s, you would have been enthusiastically greeted by a man barely 100 pounds and just over five feet tall. He would have asked you for ten cents admission and ushered you into his fantasy world.

As you moved through his garden of stone sculptures and he explained the significance of each piece, you would have witnessed the great pride Ed Leedskalnin took in his work. 

As it is documented that no one witnessed Ed's labor in building his beloved Coral Castle, some have said he had supernatural powers. Ed would only say that he knew the secrets used to build the ancient pyramids and that if he could learn them, so could you.

Today, you can tour Coral Castle using our audio booths, with narration available in English, Spanish, French or German. Expert guides are also available for tours. The Coral Castle Museum features a 9-ton door that moves at the touch of a finger, a Polaris telescope and functional rocking chairs, all made of stone.

We wonder what was the inspiration that led one man to spend 28 years carving a Coral Castle from the ground up using only homemade tools? A tribute to unrequited love? Perhaps to illustrate ancient gravity-defying science? Or maybe just pure and simple human determination?

The Coral Castle is an eternal mystery to those who explore it.
