Managed by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society, the tidal lighthouse, museum, and grounds are home to 5,000 years of community history.

This distinctive lighthouse, a 108-foot brick tower adorned with a deep red topped with black iron, is known for providing tourists with an outstanding view of both the present and the past in a strategic position near Florida's easternmost point. It also directs ships on Florida's Atlantic coast some 100 miles north of Miami as they pass through this location and down the Gulf Stream.

To arrive you must drive from I-95 (exit 87A) or FL Turnpike (exit 116), taking Indiantown Rd East, turn left/north onto US Highway 1. At Alt, turn right/east. A1A/Beach Lane. Switch right into Lighthouse Park first.

Jupiter light is popular with lighthouse lovers because of its dense, prismatic lens called the Fresnel lens. This custom-made glass could transform the light of an oil or kerosene lamp into a dark night for miles.

Located in Lighthouse Park, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum provides climbing tours of the 1860 lighthouse. The museum displays five thousand years on the Loxahatchee and outdoor exhibitions include the Oil Lodge, Keepers Workshop Exhibit, Tindall Pioneer Homestead, and Seminole Chickee. Standing at the windy top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, you can look over Palm Beach County and see the Atlantic Ocean, yachts, kayakers, and occasional dolphins and manatees.

Enjoy shopping at the nautical Museum gift shop and check online for programs, sunset tours, moonrise tours, yoga, weddings & proposals, and special events.

The waterfront venue is perfect for dipping your toes in the Inlet, nature watching, and a picnic lunch.

The hiking trail and observation tower are located on the north side of Beach Road. Beaches, restaurants, shopping, playground & watersports are located nearby.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of the 120-acre federally designated, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area.

Today's tourists spend the rest of the day lounging on the beaches of Palm Beach County, enjoying a decent shopping fix or selecting from a dizzying range of fine restaurants. It is well known for its opulent mansions and hotels, some constructed with new money, some old. One well-known example is former President Trump's mansion and golf course, Mar-a-Lago.
