Jensen Beach, tucked into Florida's East Coast between Fort Pierce and West Palm Beach, once was known as the '
Pineapple Capital of the World'.
The nearest airport to Jensen Beach is
Vero Beach (VRB). However, there are better options for getting to
Jensen Beach. You can take a bus from
Orlando (MCO) to Jensen Beach via Orlando Super Tours Terminal and Port St Lucie, FL - Travel Plaza in around 4h.
If you're here looking for the ideal shell of the sea, diving, sailing, or fishing, the gorgeous beaches deliver
hours of relaxation.
Hutchinson Island provides numerous entry points and miles of serene beaches. Jensen Beach is the
main public beach providing facilities such as parking, bathrooms, toilets, picnic areas, sand volleyball courts, a concession stand, and a lifeguard service. There are
17 public beaches on Hutchinson Island from Waveland Beach to Bathtub Reef Beach. Offering direct public access to miles of gorgeous sandy beaches.
With its major shopping centers, numerous specialty stores, and unusual boutiques, the Jensen Beach area is renowned as a
retail shopping center and a seafood fine dining location of the Treasure Coast.
Water enthusiasts will find
boating, sailing, swimming, skiing, surfing, and scuba diving. The Elliot Museum maintains
permanent displays on the collection of classic vessels and vintage motor vehicles. Or the House of Shelter, a house of a shipwrecked sailor built in 1875, includes a collection of maritime objects.
Jensen Beach is the preferred
breeding site for loggerhead sea turtles, green turtles, and leatherback sea turtles. Every year from late spring to mid-summer, the tortoises return to the beaches where they were born to lay their eggs at night. Eggs tend to hatch in late summer. We suggest taking the tour activity of the Turtle Runs.
Its picturesque historic downtown is a culinary spot, a lunch and snacks stop at Frances Langford Outrigger Café devoted to the late singer and radio host who moved to Jensen Beach and was a great benefactor to Martin County.
This quaint shopping spot is also a popular location for many neighborhood activities, such as the
pineapple festival they host every year. Stroll through the crushed streets of the shell to try out the stores and art galleries. Grab a meal at one of the dozen or so fine restaurants in the city, including two five-star restaurants.
