Description
Starting June 16, 2026, this tour offers an authentic Everglades experience departing from Miami. Avoid crowded commercial parks and large airboats by joining a smaller group for a more personal exploration of the Everglades' River of Grass ecosystem.
Your tour begins with a comfortable ride in a licensed and insured Mercedes Sprinter Van (maximum 14 passengers). During the transfer, a multilingual guide provides insights into the Everglades' wildlife, history, and Native American culture.
Once at the Everglades, board a small semi-private airboat with tiered seating for optimal visibility. The 1 to 1 hour 20 minute ride covers open marshes and narrow sawgrass trails, reaching remote areas inaccessible to larger boats. Noise-reducing headphones are provided for your comfort.
With fewer passengers, captains can navigate closer to wildlife, offering sightings of alligators, birds, turtles, and other native species in their natural environment. The tour includes visits to two private tree islands:
- The first island is a wildlife rehabilitation area where rescued baby alligators and turtles are cared for. Guests may safely hold a baby alligator while learning about conservation efforts.
- The second island is a historic family camp with Native American heritage and local history. Look for “Mama Gator,” a large wild alligator known in the area.
The tour concludes at the Miccosukee Service Plaza, which offers snacks, refreshments, souvenirs, and convenience store amenities.
Wildlife sightings, routes, and island visits may vary depending on weather and water conditions. Duration is approximately 4.5 to 5 hours. Pick-up times are between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm, typically starting between 7:30 am and 8:00 am.
