Description

The Real Everglades Experience away from Tourist Traps This tour is not just sightseeing — it’s a meaningful, eco-conscious experience that supports the Native community and contributes to the preservation of the Everglades ecosystem. Completely different from the overcrowded commercial parks and massive airboats most agencies use. Instead, you’ll explore the real Everglades in an authentic and intimate way. Your adventure begins with luxury transportation in a Mercedes Sprinter Van (14 seats) or a Chevrolet Suburban SUV, both fully licensed, insured, and designed for small groups. Once inside the Indian reservation, you’ll board a small, open-air airboat with elevated tiered seats, offering the best views and a far more personal experience than the 50+ passenger covered boats of the tourist parks. In most cases, our group ( max 14 pax) enjoys a 1-hour ride, with no other passengers. The airboat covers miles of untouched wetlands, gliding through sawgrass prairies, mangrove forests, and cypress swamps. The experience also include stops at two private islands ( hammocks) passed down through generations of one of the most important Miccosukee Indian families. Once used as traditional hunting camps, today these islands are home to rescued and rehabilitated alligators and turtles, cared for and protected by the family. The second island is where this Miccosukee family lived until 1962 and it now serves as an educational site and gathering place where younger generations reconnect with tribal traditions. Here you may spot the legendary 'Papa Alligator' or 'Mama Alligator' and you'll have the chance to walk a short boardwalk. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history, culture, and traditions of the Miccosukee tribes. At the end of your tour, enjoy some free time to visit the Indian reservation handicraft store (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), where you’ll find authentic, locally made crafts. A quick driving tour inside the reservation will follow. Throughout the journey, your certified multilingual driver-guide will provide commentary during the transfer, while your airboat captain shares insights in English about the Everglades, often called the “River of Grass.” Highlights: 1-hour airboat ride — small, open-air boats with elevated seats (no crowded tourist boats) Stops on two private islands, with wildlife encounters and cultural insights Safe interaction with baby alligators and turtles Driving tour inside the Miccosukee reservation Free time at the Indian handicraft store (closed Mon–Tue) - Stop at another Everglades store on Monday and Tuesday Luxury small-group transport (Mercedes Sprinter or Suburban with Wi-Fi) Licensed, insured, multilingual guides for a premium service ⏱ Duration: 4.5 – 5 hours Pick-up: Between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm (usually 8:00 am; confirmed 1–2 days before) Due to fluctuating water levels inside the reservation, the airboat tour may occasionally be operated in a different Everglades park.

Important Information

  • We try to accommodate all requests for pickup and drop off. We pick up in most of Miami Beach Hotels - Downtown - and Brickell. Distant pickup locations might require an additional cost. Pickup time can be between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm (We will confirm the pick time 1-2 days before the tour starts. Usually pick up starts between 7:30 am and 8 am) We may pick up/drop off at Miami International Airport and Port of Miami cruise terminals at an extra cost due to entrance fees. Driver/Guide can talk in different languages ( English-Spanish-French-Italian). The airboat ride is always in English. Due to water level fluctuations in the Everglades, the airboat experience may occasionally take place in a different park or area to ensure the best possible conditions. If we do not reach the minimum number of participants required for a private group tour, the excursion may be arranged in a different park with a shared airboat ride. Any changes will be communicated 1–2 days before the tour.
