Customer service is where this place stands out, and two people made our stay. The bartender working the breakfast shift was so kind to us and knew exactly where to send us for entertainment and things to see nearby. Then the server at the pool turned out to be a thirty-year local who gave us great advice on Everglades tours, the kind of tip you only get from someone who lives here. The lobby looks beautiful after the remodel and the pool area was an easy place to lose an afternoon. Beach access is right there. Location is another big plus and so walkable with more dining options than you can get through in a weekend!!
The Shelborne Miami makes a great first impression with its chic and luxurious interior. The rooms are beautifully decorated and create a stylish atmosphere that fits South Beach perfectly. One of the hotel's biggest strengths is its staff. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and you can genuinely tell they do their best to provide excellent service. The front desk team, in particular, was outstanding and always eager to help. It's also nice that several amenities are included, such as complimentary bottled water, beach and pool chairs with umbrellas and towels, and a complimentary driver service within a 2-mile radius. Unfortunately, the driver service didn't work well during our stay. We were told the wait would be about five minutes, but after waiting nearly 30 minutes, the car still hadn't arrived, so we ended up taking an Uber instead. We also noticed that the valet team seemed overwhelmed at times, resulting in guests occasionally receiving the wrong car or car keys. Before arriving, I specifically requested a baby crib and asked for the minibar to be emptied. Both requests were confirmed before our stay, but unfortunately neither had been taken care of when we arrived in our room. There were also a few maintenance issues. The shower door appeared to be misaligned, causing the glass panels to hit each other whenever it was opened or closed. On our last day, the bathroom lights also stopped working. In addition, housekeeping didn't arrive until around 4:30 PM each day. We happened to be leaving at that time, but otherwise this would have been quite inconvenient. Overall, we had a mixed experience. The hotel has many positive aspects, especially its beautiful design and exceptional staff, but for the price you pay, I expected more attention to detail and a smoother overall experience.
Loved it! This is one of my favorite hotels in Miami. Check in was seamless, and everyone was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The front desk staff even remembered my dogs’ names and wanted to say goodbye before we checked out, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also provided dog beds for my puppies. Valet, housekeeping, turndown service, and the pool and beach staff were all excellent. The only minor issue was that one of the elevators was out of service on Friday, so the wait was longer than usual. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay, and I can’t wait to come back.
Very beautiful and clean hotel. Stayed here for 4 days and it was perfect. The staff is so friendly and professional as well. The food is also phenomenal. We had breakfast every morning at the Pauline. Mayelin, the hostess, was so friendly and great with her service. The strawberry matcha, guava and cheese pastry, and eggs Benedict were my top 3. Dinner there was also 10/10. The Johnny Cake, Croquetas, and Whole Red snapper were so good we’re coming back just for that. The pool was also easy navigate with the lounge chairs. I don’t have kids, but it’s very kid friendly. There’s a ton of families here. I also like how walkable it is to popular spots on the beach like Watr and the 1 Hotel, Lincoln Road, and Ocean Drive. Overall, amazing experience. I would definitely come back!!!
We had an excellent stay at The Shelborne By Proper. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was seamless from check-in to check-out. The room was comfortable, and the bed made for a great night’s sleep. A thoughtful touch was the Aesop soap and toiletries, which added a premium feel to the stay. While we weren’t there long enough to experience everything the property has to offer, everything we did encounter was excellent. Beautiful property, great service, and a fantastic Miami Beach location. We’d gladly stay here again.
