If you’re staying in Miami Beach, skip the overrated mega hotels and book The Fritz instead. The location is absolutely unbeatable — right in the heart of everything and steps from the beach. The suites with balconies are perfect, and my suite was enormous. The cleanliness was top-tier, the aesthetic was beautiful, and the entire property felt comfortable, elevated, and genuinely well-maintained. Manuel also delivered exceptional service and made the experience even better. Honestly one of the best boutique hotel experiences I’ve had in Miami. I would stay here again without hesitation. I even stayed an extra day because I was so charmed and having such a great time. Bravo again to Manuel. My only disappointment was that I eventually had to check out and come home. I had an amazing stay at The Fritz! The location is perfect—it’s in a great area and right next to a food spot, which made everything super convenient. The staff were really nice and welcoming, and there was always someone at the front desk whenever I needed help. The room was big and very spacious, which made it feel comfortable and relaxing. I also loved the kitchen—it was well set up and made the stay even better. Overall, everything about this place was great, and I’d definitely stay here again!
This place has so much potential! A hotel living off of the pull of its location and definitely in need of a lot of reinvestment in renovations. However not just a bit of paint. We had a two bedroom suite with a beach view there is a lot of problems in the room, I wish I took photos but I don’t usually write reviews. Pros: A lot of wardrobe space, big firm beds (stained sheets), very big living room and a great location. Cons: The sliding glass door in the main bedroom balcony didn’t have a latch. So we couldn’t lock it which was concerning considering the balcony was shared with only a waist high rail separating each side. The sliding glass door in the other bedroom didn’t even have a handle or a lock there was just a hole where it should’ve been. This was less of a concern as there was no way for anyone to get to it from the outside however still shocking. The sliding glass window in the first bathroom is on the same wall as the shower/bath and it’s track was completely full up with old mouldy water from many previous visitors which made the bathrooms smell of mould. The sofa was rotten, littered with old stains and crumbs. Both the kitchen and bathroom cabinets were thick with dust and some cabinet doors were hanging off when opened. There is a standard hotel room safe but no security of any form at the hotel entrance that was always unlocked and half open. Somewhat unsafe considering there was only one person on the front desk all day and the elevator was not in eye shot of the desk. The elevator was old and working fine unless you wanted to go to visit the pool on the roof. We went up to have a look at the view and ended up getting stuck as the call button for the elevator was not working pressing a few times and waiting a while we took the stairs. This wasn’t a massive inconvenience, but would definitely be a problem for anyone with a disability or handicap. Especially as there wasn’t any signs indicating that it was out of order. Finally be prepared to be met by dance soundtrack being blasted early in the mornings by the restaurant next door. All in all what we paid was not cheap but considering the how good the location was I didn’t expect any luxuries. However the basic expectations were still not met in my opinion. Mould, thick dust and lack of door locks is unacceptable.
This place has potential. I've always admired it during my former visits to South Beach. When I arrived the road on the strip was closed, so I had to park my car and check in and take my luggage to the room from 7th Street. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly enough. I ended up with a spacious king suite with a balcony that afforded a view of the ocean. Bed was very comfortable. Little balcony had a table and two chairs. The restaurant to the north cranks the canned music pretty loud. My balcony door wouldn't lock, so a staff member had to jam it with a length of pipe. No maintenance on site and no valet parking. The room has a safe in the walk-in closet. This is pretty important to me when I'm traveling. HVAC works well. Elevator is VERY slow. The room still had some vestiges of its Art Deco glory days. Kitchenette and sitting room was gigantic, with a pull-out sofa bed, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, coffee pot and microwave. Bathroom still had what was probably the original marble top, and it looked like some of the original Art Deco light fixtures were still mounted on the ceiling. The rooftop swimming pool was good and there were plenty of lounge chairs. It looked like at some former time there was a rooftop bar and maybe they did some barbecues up there because there was a gas grill. Possibly there used to be a restaurant on the first floor as well but it appeared to have been closed for some time. If you're not picky about the details and want a good value on the beach, this might be your spot. Room was very clean.
The Fritz Hotel has an excellent location directly on Ocean Drive, perfectly situated between 5th and 6th Street. You really couldn’t ask for a better spot in South Beach. We stayed in an apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious living and dining area. There was also a kitchen available. While it did not include a stove, it was equipped with a dishwasher and all necessary dishware, which was perfectly adequate for our stay. The rooms are slightly dated, but definitely not worn out. Everything was clean, functional, and comfortable. One of the absolute highlights is the rooftop area, featuring a pool and terrace with a fantastic view — a great place to relax and enjoy the Ocean Drive atmosphere from above. What truly stood out was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Special requests such as early check-in and late checkout were handled smoothly and without any issues, which made our stay even more pleasant. Overall, we had a very good experience and would happily stay at The Fritz Hotel again on our next trip to Miami Beach. Overall rating: Very good – highly recommended for its location, staff, and rooftop pool.
