Drawing Human Anatomy is a monthly 3-hour workshop series that is taught by Leonardo Montoya that explores every aspect of drawing the human form, while understanding the harmony and mechanics of movement and expression. It is recommended to take various workshops to enhance the technique aspects of each lesson, though students have the option to take workshops independently, for each session is designed to work autonomously reviewing basic elements of drawing human anatomy. *Disclaimer: Sessions vary from using dummies and/or a semi-nude model.
Adults only. Intermediate to Advanced. Three or more “Introduction to Drawing and Art History” sessions are needed as pre-requisite or demonstration of basic drawing skill.
About the Instructor: Leonardo Montoya is an internationally recognized artist known for portraying the uniqueness of people so viewers can relate, accept, and embrace diversity. Empowering the characters he paints, he highlights each person’s beauty and singularity, giving a voice to those daily life warriors that are often overlooked. Born in Colombia, Montoya recently returned from the UAE where he enjoyed a residency in RAK, Emirates with the Al Qasimi Foundation.

Session 4 – July 1st: Forth shortening and Perspective
Session 5 – August 5th: Contour Drawing
Session 6 – September 2nd: Mechanics and Movement
Session 7- October 7th Facial Expressions
Session 8 – November 4th: Hands and Feet
Session 9 – December 2nd: Hair
Session 10 – January 6th: Value and Form
Session 11 – February 3rd : Portrait
Session 12 – March 2nd: Self-Portrait
